The Energy District

The Alta Irpinia Renewable Energy District has been established by a bylaw of the Campania Regional Authority (n.285, 15 February 2008) and aims to develop the renewable energy sector in the area, including all the actors in this process: regional, provincial and local authorities in strategic partnership with business players.

The agreement between the Regional Authority and the municipalities aims

  • To develop the supply chain and the technologies in the energy sector;
  • To promote the most advanced technologies in the process of energy production from renewable sources, particularly from wind power and bioenergetic supply chains, contributing to research in this area of study through the collaboration with research centers.
  • To experiment initiatives and processes that will help to improve the efficiency in the energy production plants, as well as its technologies and the processes leading to the connection

The municipalities that have signed this protocol are: Andretta, Aquilonia, Bisaccia, Cairano, Calitri, Conza della Campania, Frigento, Guardia dei Lombardi, Lacedonia, Lioni, Monteverde, Morra de Sanctis, Rocca San Felice, Sant'Andrea di Conza, Sant'Angelo dei Lombardi, Scampitella, Teora, Torella dei Lombardi, Trevico, Vallata, Vallesaccarda, Villamaina.
